  • Pavement management system: performance based maintenance contracting and specifications, GIS applications and database development, pavement distress modeling, performance models and need estimates, pavement bonus pay adjustment systems, pavement rehabilitation and maintenance optimization;
  • Operations research and its applications to the multimodal transportation systems: Routing and scheduling for rail, transit, and freight transportation systems, collaborative decision making in intermodal transportation systems, rail transportation systems planning and design, computer scheduling and optimization of rail transit systems, rail transit computer simulation under disruptions, intelligent transportation systems, logistics and supply chain management, product life cycle analysis, equipment replacement optimization, alternative energy;
